Sneak Preview!

Last night I ran a few errands, here is what I came up with.

Place cards:

We will be attaching each one of these cute little tags to a pinecone for the place cards. I haven't decided if we will be hand writing each tag or if I will use clear labels. Each card will be embellished with a snowflake detail. Any suggestions?

The Exit:

Here is an idea of what we will be doing for the exit. We opted to be different from the typical bubbles or rice farewell --we are going with a sleigh bells idea. I purchased bells and we will be making our own tags with some sort of "Thank you for being part of our day" saying.

Reception Cards:

Tomorrow evening we will be doing all of the printing of the invitations, response cards and labels for the envelopes. We are using Rachel and Ryan's printer (thanks guys!!) for everything except for the reception cards. I had these printed at Staples on white card stock, double sided, 4 to a page and they cut them in quarters for me! So here is a plug for my old stomping ground, they turned out amazing!! Here is a preview:

The Card Holder:

And lastly but certainly not least I have found the Sleigh we will be using on our gift table as the card holder. It's so cute! This is not a picture of the exact one I bought from Michaels Craft store but it is very similar. Here's your preview:

It's official!

Our applications were turned in on Friday. By Monday we were approved!!

We are so thrilled to pack up our stuff and move in! We originally hadn't planned on moving anything in until December 1st, but the landlord offered to give us the month of November for free!!! (we will pay that stinkin BGE bill though)

Justin will move in first and I will move in after the wedding. So as of this Saturday, November 1st, the apartment is ours!

We feel so blessed and are are so thankful God has been in control of this whole situation. Monday morning my heart was racing, wondering what the outcome of the whole situtation would be and by Monday afternoon our prayers were answered. God certainly put me in my place through a loving sister's words telling me not to worry, knowing that God has everything under control. After resolving myself to the fact that there is nothing I can do to control the situation, I gave my hopes and worries over to God and within minutes--Justin was calling me to tell me we were approved. Life is full of sanctifying moments like this! Thank you all for your prayers and encouragement!!

Linens: Check

Saturday my parents and I took a trip down to the reception site to talk about linens. I took a sample centerpiece down to make sure it would be the appropriate size for the tables and the room. We are going to find some tealight candles in either silver or blue to put around the centerpiece. We chose white linens with a sort of swirly pattern--this includes the tablecloths and the napkins. We chose the white to create the winter wonderland feel and we will accessorize with sliver and blue for the icy look. Everything is falling into place!!

And just in case you didn't realize....
Justin and I are getting married in 2 months and 8 days!!!!

Tell me what you think!

I've been beefing up my wedding registry lately...people have told me that it's always better to have too much on your registry than not enough!!

So what I want to know is....

What is the ONE thing in your house, that you cannot live without?

Let me know!

And in case you want to check out my Registries:

*UPDATE*

We looked at one last apartment last night and it was quite an experience!

Let me list the reasons why we are not taking it:

1. The landlord yelled at Justin for parking in the wrong direction.
2. The landlord showed it to us in the dark.
3. There was no counter space in the kitchen.
4. The landlord showed it to us in the dark.
5. The landlord showed it to us in the dark.

Here is a glimpse of the apartment

Seriously, why would you show someone an apartment in the dark, with a flashlight?!?

We have made a decision on which apartment we are renting though! The pictures you see in the blog below will be where we will be living! It is a one bedroom apartment located in the downtown historic section of Havre de Grace. We are sooo excited about it!!! We can't wait to move in and get settled!!

The search may be over!

We are thinking that this apartment may be IT! We are still thinking about it and may look at one other place, but this is our #1 for now!

Testing...1-2-3

Mock-up #1

This is a rough draft of the centerpieces.
We basically grabbed some branches from our backyard pine trees and sprayed them with fake snow, then ran to the craft store and purchased some silk stephanotis flowers and silver sparkely branches. The centerpiece needs some more to it, but that's the basic idea! This will be paired with tea lights around the base of the vase to give it extra glow and shine. The stephanotis will carry over to the brides and bridemaids bouquets so it all ties together!

Seeing Eye to Eye

Justin and I had another counseling session on Friday night, where we discovered that we do indeed know each other!! --- according to our assessments of each other.

We had to rate each other's personality trates on a scale of 1-10. It made for an interesting discussion, thankfully we both know our strengths and weaknesses! It definitely helps that we have known each other for a bazillion years. It scares me to think that some people enter marriages without excepting the imperfection in their future spouse-to-be. I'm so thankful that we can look, see and love each other -- the good and the bad in each other.

We are also starting a new book called, A Long Obedience in the Same Direction-by Eugene Peterson (who is also the author of The Message). This isn't your typical marriage counseling book, it is more of a life counseling book. I sat down to read the first few chapters and it really is a book that challenges your Christian walk and putting action to your faith. I'm excited to keep reading!

Centerpieces

The FedEx man is going to love us.
On Sunday I ordered the vases for our centerpieces at the reception! All 24 of them will arrive at my house in the next day or so! I used a really cool website, called koyalwholesale.com. It looks like a site that alot of companys would use to buy in bulk. It really came in handy for these vases because they give a great bulk discount! They also offer great ideas on centerpieces and ceremony decorations.
Preparations are on there way, we are almost there!! Little by little odds and ends are being tied up.
I used to hate that stores would push the winter season on the consumer at such an early time, but now I find myself getting excited to see them put out the trees and lights and holiday decorations....It's almost time!!!
On another note...if anyone can track down a miniature sleigh for me, I am looking for one to use as a card holder!!
